Profile: Nader Dahabi
Minister of Transport

Minister of Transport Nader Dahabi was born in Amman, in 1946. In 1964, he graduated from Al Hussein College in Amman and joined the Royal Jordanian Air Force as a cadet. He obtained his BSc in aeronautical engineering from the Greek Air Force Academy in 1969 and his MSc in aeronautical engineering from the Cranfield Institute of Technology in England in 1982. He earned a second masters in public administration from Auburn University in the US state of Alabama in 1987. Dahabi was assistant commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force for Logistics from 1992-1994. He has been president and chief executive officer of Royal Jordanian since 1994, and served as chairman of the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) from 1994-1995.

He remains a member of the AACO executive committee. Dahabi also has been Chairman of the Board of Royal Jordanian Air Falcons since 1994, is a member of the board of the Royal Jordanian Academy, a member of the Higher Committee of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, and a member of the Higher Council of Tourism. He also served as president of IATA from 1996-1997, and served as a member of the IATA board of governors from 1995-1998.
