The Media in Jordan

Jordan's News Agency

Petra News Agency, considered the official source of Jordan related news, was established under the umbrella of the Department of Print and Publication. It later became as an independent entity in August 1969. Petra aims to cover Jordan's news on the local, regional and international levels. News is distributed in both Arabic and English. see www.petra.gov.jo

Jordan TV and Radio 

Radio Jordan started broadcasting its programs March 1st 1953. It continued to perform its role independently until it merged with Jordan Television. Radio Jordan broadcasts in Arabic, English and French.

Jordan Television, it started broadcasting live on April 24th 1968. Jordan TV broadcasts and covers news in Arabic, English and French as well.

Both Jordan TV and radio have a wide variety of programs to accommodate the different interests of Jordanian society. see www.jrtv.com
