New company selected to facilitate Iraqis’ visa applications

The Interior Ministry and the Jordan Express Tourist Transportation Company (JETT) have signed an agreement to help Iraqis seeking to visit the Kingdom with their visa applications, an official said on Thursday.

The agreement, signed this week by Interior Minister Nayef Qadi and JETT General Director Malik Haddad, established a system to regulate the entry process in response to a request from the Iraqi government to regulate the flow of Iraqi citizens into Jordan, the official said.

The deal replaces another one signed in 2008 with the international courier TNT, under which eligible Iraqi applicants used to apply at TNT offices in Iraq or through Jordanian diplomatic missions abroad. (see story)
