Amman, April 9 (Petra) --
Jordanian dailies commented on Wednesday on the death of the Jordanian journalist Tareq Ayyoub.

" Tareq Ayyoub wanted so badly to go to Baghdad. For the first two weeks of the US-UK war on Iraq, he reported daily from Ruweished for both the Jordan Times and Al Jazeera. As soon as he got the opportunity to head to Baghdad, he didn't hesitate because for him reporting from the inferno of this war was his mission", the dailies said.

" Had Al Jazeera offices been the only media hit by US missiles yesterday, perhaps some would accept the US military's excuse that the hit was a mistake. But the US aircraft also shot at the offices of Abu Dhabi TV and at the Palestine hotel where dozens of journalists are registered.

And the US military came back with even more excuses", the dailies added.
