Into the race

An electoral poster for a veiled candidate is put up at a polling station in Amman Saturday. Yesterday was the deadline for contesting candidate lists, while Interior Minister Eid Fayez said the names of 3,680 voters were erased from the electoral list of the Central Badia District because they were not eligible to vote in the area, which, along with other bedouin areas, enjoys a special status, as only members of defined bedouin tribes in ‘closed’ constituencies are allowed to vote, according to the Jordan New Agency, Petra
