Arab Foreign Ministers decide to attend peace meeting
Cairo, Nov.23 (Petra)—Arab Foreign Ministers members of Arab contact group to reactivate Arab peace initiative had decided participate in the Annapolis peace conference at ministerial level provided that the conference should deal with issues according to references representing in the international legitimacy, road map and Arab Peace Initiative, according to a statement issued by the committee shortly after it concluded its extraordinary meeting.
The decision was taken after the committee was briefed by the Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas on the latest developments on the Palestinian arena, the Palestinian-Israeli dialogue and further more to support the Arab Peace Initiative, the committee clarified.
The Arab stance, the Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Kurti said, will be unified and the Arabs will not go to the conference for the Palestinian issue only, but rather they are going to the conference to negotiate according to the Arab Peace initiative as it contains the Palestinian, Syrian and Lebanese issues
The Syrian issue will be included to the conference agenda, and the Syrians are waiting to receive a copy of the agenda to decide to take part in the conference, Sudanese Foreign Ministry added.
