Jordan ranks 55 out of
129 countries in education - UNESCO
Jordan ranked 55th out of 129 countries in the Education for All - Global
Monitoring Report 2008 released by UNESCO. Minister of Education Tayseer Nueimi,
who announced the results yesterday, said Jordan ranked second among Arab
countries, and was preceded by Bahrain. He noted that the report monitors
countries' actions and efforts seeking to achieve education for all. Kuwait
ranked 60th, the Palestinian Authority 69th, Lebanon 70th, Tunisia 80th, the UAE
81st, Algeria 87th, Egypt 91st, Oman 92nd, Saudi Arabia 93rd, Iraq 106th,
Morocco 109th, Mauritania 116th and Yemen 119th, according to the minister.
