Premier meets
congressional delegation
Prime Minister Nader Dahabi met on Tuesday a US Congressional delegation to
discuss bilateral ties and regional developments. During the meeting, Dahabi
stressed the centrality of the Palestinian issue and highlighted the importance
of seizing the opportunities made available by the Annapolis international peace
meeting. On Iraq, the premier underlined the Kingdom’s support for the political
process, stressing that security and stability in Iraq can only be achieved
through national reconciliation. On bilateral ties, Dahabi voiced the country’s
appreciation for the US assistance in vital social and economic reform
programmes and projects. Meanwhile, delegation head Senator George Voinovich
said His Majesty King Abdullah serves as a model for leaders seeking to achieve
peace and stability.
