Prime minister receives
US congressional delegation
Prime Minister Nader Dahabi on Monday met with a delegation of US Congressional
staff currently on a visit to the Kingdom and briefed them on the results of His
Majesty King Abdullah’s recent visit to the US. The premier also referred to
King Abdullah’s discussions with the US administration and Congress on stopping
Israeli military operations in the Palestinian territories, aiding the
Palestinian Authority in institution-building and enhancing the living
conditions of Palestinians. Dahabi also reviewed Jordan’s efforts to address
political issues in the region, especially in Iraq and Lebanon. On bilateral
ties, Dahabi expressed the government’s appreciation of US assistance to Jordan,
underlining the economic challenges the Kingdom faces due to rising prices of
oil and other basic items.
