King Abdullah to meet President Mubarak on Monday, take part in the World Islamic Economic Forum in Kuwait
Amman, April 27, (Petra) His Majesty King
Abdullah II heads for Sharm Al Sheikh tomorrow Monday on a brief visit to Egypt
during which he will hold talks with Egyptian President Mohammad Hosni Mubarak
on developments in the region and peace making efforts.
After that King Abdullah will leave for Kuwait on a two-day working visit to
take part in the fourth World Islamic Economic Forum opening Tuesday.
King Abdullah, who has been invited by Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al-Jaber
Al Sabah to take part in the forum, will deliver a keynote address at the
opening session of the forum, organized with large scale world participation.
Four head of states, three prime ministers, top officials, world economic
experts and more than 400 business leaders from around the world will be taking
part in the three-day event, held under the title "Islamic States, Partners in
International Development".
Kuwaiti Ambassador to Amman Sheikh Faisal Al Sabah said "King Abdullah's
participation mirrors the close Jordanian-Kuwaiti ties which have been
remarkably developing in political, economic and cultural domains.
" "His Majesty will be the first main guest to the forum," he said noting that
this Jordanian participation is especially important as Jordan's delegation
comprises of representatives of the private and public business and economic
facilities.
In a parallel meeting to the forum, King Abdullah and Sheikh Al Sabah will hold
talks on bilateral relations, issues of common interest and developments in the
region, said the Kuwaiti diplomat.
Participants in the forum will discuss a host of economic issues facing the Arab
and Islamic world in a bid to foster trade partnerships and economic cooperation
between business leaders and companies in member states of the Organization of
the Islamic Conference (OIC).
The Kuwaiti government has provided all the necessary arrangements to host the
forum and ensure its success, Al Sabah said.
The forum operates under the umbrella of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF)
foundation, an independent non-profit organization established by the Asian
Institute for Strategies and Leadership to the organizing body of the forum.
Its main objective is to offer the appropriate ground for exchanging views and
opinions that concern government and economic facilities in the Arab and Islamic
world.
