Aid convoy heads to Gaza
A 15-truck aid convoy crossed the King Hussein Bridge, en route to the Gaza
Strip, on Wednesday. Dispatched by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation, in
cooperation with UNRWA, the convoy is carrying 178 tonnes of foodstuff, wheat
and clothing. Also yesterday, a delegation comprising members of the Palestinian
Legislative Council visited Jordan's military field hospital in Gaza and
highlighted its efforts to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians. The hospital
has conducted around 1,100 operations, including 450 major surgeries, since its
deployment in March, according to its director Abdul Majid Shandaq.
