By Hani Hazaimeh

AMMAN - Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh on Wednesay said he reiterated the Kingdom's positions with regard to the Middle East peace process during a meting with a delegation representing the American Jewish Committee (AJC) on Tuesday.

"We explained to the delegation members the importance of reaching a peaceful resolution to the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis based on the Arab Peace Initiative and international resolutions," Judeh told The Jordan Times yesterday.

He added that his meeting with the delegation sought to enlighten AJC members on Jordan's stance as well as His Majesty King Abdullah's efforts at the regional and international levels to achieve a comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

Judeh said discussions also covered the latest political developments in the region.

The seven-member group, led by AJC Director of Government and International Affairs Jason Isaacson, also met with Planning and International Cooperation Minister Suhair Al-Ali, Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications Nabil Sharif and other officials to discuss regional political and strategic issues, according to a statement from the AJC office.

The statement added that the visit, which is AJC’s fifth round of consultations in an Arab capital this year, also included meetings with senior US and Israeli diplomats, journalists and policy analysts in Amman.
