FM discusses peace process
with US Jewish group

AMMAN - Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh on Wednesay said he reiterated
the Kingdom's positions with regard to the Middle East peace process during a
meting with a delegation representing the American Jewish Committee (AJC) on
Tuesday.
"We explained to the delegation members the importance of reaching a peaceful
resolution to the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis based on the Arab
Peace Initiative and international resolutions," Judeh told The Jordan Times
yesterday.
He added that his meeting with the delegation sought to enlighten AJC members on
Jordan's stance as well as His Majesty King Abdullah's efforts at the regional
and international levels to achieve a comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
Judeh said discussions also covered the latest political developments in the
region.
The seven-member group, led by AJC Director of Government and International
Affairs Jason Isaacson, also met with Planning and International Cooperation
Minister Suhair Al-Ali, Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications
Nabil Sharif and other officials to discuss regional political and strategic
issues, according to a statement from the AJC office.
The statement added that the visit, which is AJC’s fifth round of consultations
in an Arab capital this year, also included meetings with senior US and Israeli
diplomats, journalists and policy analysts in Amman.
