Jordan, Iraq to sign
agricultural agreements
Jordan and Iraq are expected to sign several agreements and memoranda of
understanding to boost Cooperation in the agricultural sector at the conclusion
of the meetings of the joint Jordanian-Iraqi Agricultural Committee, which
started on Sunday. At a meeting between Minister of Agriculture Saeed Masri and
his Iraqi counterpart, Akram Hakim, yesterday, the two sides highlighted the
"strong" economic relations between the two countries. The Iraqi official noted
that the Iraqi ministry of agriculture will coordinate with concerned
authorities to address the delay Jordanian trucks face while crossing into Iraq.
During the four-day meetings, the two sides will discuss means to boost
agricultural cooperation, veterinary medicine and marketing.
