Iraqi President meets Prime Minister
Sulaymaniyah, Sept. 4 (Petra)--Iraqi President
Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister Nader Dahabi on Thursday expressed keenness to
further boost bilateral ties and open new horizons for stronger cooperation in
different fields.
The premier reiterated Jordan's supportive stance to Iraq’s stability ,
territorial integrity, reconciliation process and involvement of all segments of
Iraqi people in political life in a bid to empower this Arab country regain its
role as an effective member of the Arab League and int'l community.
The Iraqi leader , meanwhile, voiced Baghdad’s keenness to maintain close
coordination with Jordan on issues of mutual concern and lauded the Kingdom's
stances to back Iraq’s political process and its efforts to promote security and
stability across the country.
President Talabani also hailed the King's step to dispatch a military aircraft
to airlift casualties of recent Baghdad’s terrorist attacks to receive medical
treatment at Jordanian hospitals.
"Iraq has overcome the threat of a civil war.
This will create an appropriate atmosphere to foster Iraq’s ties with its
neighbours," added Talabani.
