Qadi reiterates Kingdom's support for Palestinians

AMMAN (Petra) –– Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Nayef Qadi on Wednesday stressed Jordan’s support for Palestinians facing Israeli measures seeking to "empty" the West Bank of its legitimate residents. Qadi made the remarks during a meeting with his Palestinian counterpart, Said Abu Ali, where he reiterated the Kingdom’s support for the Palestinian Authority and the Palestinians in establishing their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. Qadi expressed Jordan’s concerns over Israeli settlement activities in the West Bank, particularly Jerusalem, saying such actions hinder peace efforts. Abu Ali, who is heading a delegation of officers from the Palestinian security and civil defence forces, highlighted the efforts exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah in the international arena to enable the Palestinian people to establish an independent state on their national soil.
