Obama discuss developments in Middle East
Amman, March 25 (Petra)-- His Majesty King
Abdullah II received a phone call from U.S. President
Barack Obama on Wednesday, during which the two leaders
discussed the current situation in the Middle East,
particularly efforts to launch effective and serious
negotiations to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict
on the basis of a two-state solution.
King Abdullah noted the importance of American support
of negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians
stressing the need for the administration to engage in
efforts to achieve peace as soon as possible through a
clear vision that outlines concrete steps towards the
establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian
state.
His Majesty also expressed his appreciation for
President Obama's position regarding the need to reach a
comprehensive and lasting peace in the region, on the
basis of a two-state solution.
During the telephone conversation, President Obama
invited His Majesty to visit Washington.
