FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE King Abdullah II to Meet with
President Barack Obama
Amman (12 April 2009) – His Majesty King Abdullah II
will meet US President Barack Obama on 21 April in
Washington DC. The meeting will focus on efforts to
reach a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict and achieve a comprehensive peace in the
region. Talks will also address Jordan-US ties.
King Abdullah will be accompanied by Her Majesty Queen
Rania on the trip. During the several-day working visit,
the king will also meet members of the US
administration, Congressional leaders as well as leaders
of the Arab and Muslim and Jewish-American communities
to discuss Middle East peace efforts.
The King is also scheduled to deliver a speech at the
Centre for Strategic and International Studies. The
speech will focus on the resolution of the
Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
On Saturday, King Abdullah received several Arab foreign
ministers and the Arab League Secretary General Amr
Musa. During the US visit, the King will convey the
united Arab position agreed at the Doha Summit.
