Jordan’s Foreign Minister
Al-Bashir meets with Secretary Rice
Discuss Mideast peace process
July 14, 2008, (Washington, DC)-
Jordan’s Foreign Minister Salaheddin Al Bashir met
today with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
and other administration officials during a one day
trip to the United States.
The two foreign secretaries discussed recent
developments in the region, primarily the Annapolis
peace process which Jordan supports. Al Bashir
stressed the need for all parties to meet their
commitments and work towards moving the process
forward in the pursuit of realizing President George
W. Bush’s vision of peace in the Middle East.
Al Bashir also discussed Jordan-U.S. bilateral
relations with the U.S. secretary and thanked her
for continued U.S. support as well as economic
assistance to Jordan.
