Jordan’s Ambassador to the United States and Mexico HRH Prince Zeid Ra’ad Al-Hussein launches activities to promote Jordan business and tourism in Mexico
Washington, D.C.– The Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan along with the Jordan Tourism Board, North America and the Jordan consulate in Mexico hosted a series of activities in Mexico City aimed to promote Jordan in Mexico as a tourism and investment destination in an effort to foster new business relations between the two countries.
The two-day program included a press roundtable with major media representatives in Mexico City and a business seminar hosted by Prince Zeid Ra’ad, Jordan’s non-resident Ambassador to Mexico. The seminar was attended by prominent business leaders, executives of major Mexican companies, tour operators and prominent journalists and featured presentations on tourism and investment including testimonials from the president of the Mexican-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Jordan’s Honorary Consul to Mexico. The discussion highlighted potential investment, business and tourism opportunities for both Mexico and Jordan and established various channels for future cooperation.
“We are very pleased with the vibrant discussion and positive exchanges we had with our Mexican friends in the business and tourism fields. Our visit here presents an excellent starting point to further strengthen our bilateral relationships and build new ones,” said Prince Zeid. “The promotional events we hosted here also help foster business opportunities between the private sectors in both our countries;” he added.
During the three day visit, Prince Zeid also held official meetings with the Under Secretary of Foreign Affairs Ms. Lourdes Aranda and the Under Secretary of Economy for Foreign Trade Ms. Beatriz Leycegui Gardoqui. Discussions focused on means to develop economic relations and business exchanges between the two countries. Moreover, both the Mexican and Jordanian tourism and economic teams held separate meetings within their sectors and reported interest in developing business.
