King Abdullah II Receives Syrian Foreign Minister
Amman, Jordan (Petra News Agency) -
His Majesty King Abdullah II received today Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem, who conveyed the regards of Syrian President and his keenness to further enhance bilateral cooperation relations.
His Majesty highlighted the importance of building on the results of the November Summit Meeting between King Abdullah and Bashar Al-Assad in Damascus, affirming that holding the meetings of the Higher Jordanian-Syrian Joint Committee soon will help boosting the bilateral ties.
King and Muallem discussed the results of Annapolis peace conference. They also discussed developments on the Lebanese arena, where King Abdullah reiterated the importance of enhancing the security, stability and sovereignty of Lebanon.
Prime Minister Nader Dahabi also met with the Syrian Foreign Minister today. During the meeting, attended by State Minister for Media Affairs and Communications Nasser Judeh and Foreign Minister Salahiddin Al Bashir, the two sides stressed the importance of coordinating the two countries’ stance towards various Arab and international issues and activating Arab solidarity to deal with challenges facing the region.
